Holocron

“The holocron is overflowing with advice! Listen and look…”

A holocron was a crystal lattice (often cubical and sized to be held in one hand) in which the Jedi, as well as the Sith, of old stored phenomenal quantities of data, as well as the holocron’s gatekeeper. The Sith also had their own form of holocron technology, and they seem to predate the Jedi in using the technology by three thousand years.

A holocron enables a character to emulate certain prerequisites for the purposes of selecting feats, talents, and prestige classes. When a holocron is created it gains a list of qualities drawn from the traits of its creator: Traditions and Talents. When a character in possession of a holocron may choose a new talent he may choose from the holocron’s list of talents, in addition to those provided by his class. Additionally, he may use the Tradition of the holocron to qualify for any Talents, Feats, Force Powers, or Prestige Classes as though he himself were a member of that tradition.

A character using a holocron to emulate the tradition prerequisites of a talent or to choose a talent not of his own class must still meet all other requirements. To choose a talent associated with a Prestige Class, an character using a holocron must also meet the Prestige Class prerequisites.

Example

Holocron of Darth Sideous:

Traditions: Sith.
Talents: Block, Connections, Dark Scourge, Dark Side Adept, Deflect, Force Perception, Mulitattack Proficiency (lightsabers), Redirect Shot, Visions, Wealth.

Holocron of Obi-Wan Kenobi:

Traditions: Jedi.
Talents: Block, Deflect, Equilibrium, Greater Weapon Focus (lightsabers), Redirect Shot, Severing Strike, Soresu, Weapon Specialization (lightsabers).

Assault Cannon

Designed by Shadowrunner. Edited by Tao.

Large, Heavy Weapon

The Assault Cannon was a large weapon used to great effect by the Phase II Dark Troopers during the Dark Trooper project in the months following the Battle of Yavin and the destruction of the first Death Star. Based on the Imperial repeater rifle designed by Moff Rebus, the assault cannon fired either a heavy plasma round or a missile depending on the nature of the target. The standard Assault Cannon could fire up to 200 plasma blasts on a single clip and a Dark Trooper carried up to 20 missiles at a time, with five being stored in the actual weapon. At 1.2 meters long and nearly 20 kilograms, the assault cannon was a devastating weapon that only certain exceptional individuals or a Dark Trooper could carry and fire effectively.

The missile launcher on the Assault Cannon works identically to that featured in the Saga Edition Core Rulebook (page 126).

Plant Surge [light side]

Designed by Eris

Plant Surge [light side]

Through your connection to the light side, you can animate plants in your immediate vicinity to hinder your opponents’ movement. There must be plants in the area for this power to function.

Time: full round action; Targets: a number of targets in an area of effect centered within 12 squares and line of sight.

Make a Use the Force check. Your check determines the area of effect.

DC 20: A 3×3 area becomes difficult terrain.

DC 25: A 4×4 area becomes difficult terrain and all targets in the area of effect are subject to being grabbed. Compare your Use the Force check to the Reflex Defense of affected targets to determine if they are grabbed.

DC 30: A 5×5 area becomes difficult terrain and all targets in the area of effect are subject to being grabbed and grappled. Compare your Use the Force check to the Reflex Defense of affected targets to determine if they are grabbed. Your Use the Force check also sets the DC of opposed grapple checks.

This power can be maintained. Make a new Use the Force check each round.

Special: You may spend a force point to make a Trip attack against every grappled target. You may spend a Destiny point to Pin every grappled target.

DUM Series Pit Droid

DUM-series pit droids were droids made by Serv-O-Droid and constructed in large quantities on Cyrillia by the native Cyrillians for use in repair and light construction.

Pit droids stood at a relatively diminutive 1.19 meters tall and came in several different colors. Their most remarkable feature was their immense strength, able to carry objects many times their own size or weight. They could also repair a broken-down podracer at a remarkable pace.

Their immense strength would make a malfunctioning (or unattended) unit extremely hazardous, possibly resulting in significant damage. The worst-case-scenario being a unit with a damaged ON/OFF button. Because of this owners would often keep an ion blaster at hand as a precautionary measure. If a unit was past the brink of repair they would need to be disposed of, this would often result in the disintegration of the particularly unlucky droid.

Pit droids could compress themselves into a compact, disk-shaped package. A tap on their “nose” would signal them to return to their upright position, and vice-versa. The antenna on their disk shaped heads served as a means of communication with other droids.
